Baylor Park Meteors Walk Afternoon / Evening Walk and meteor viewing. August 11, 2007 (Saturday) Sponsor: Crow River Crawlers Start Point: Picnic shelter building by the beach in Baylor Regional Park Baylor is on Carver Country Read 33 north of Norwood/Young America. Start/Finish Time: 3:00 P.M. / finish by 9:00P.M. Distance: 10K (shorter loop distances available) Trail Rating/Description: Natural paths and grassy fields. Dogs on leash OK. No strollers or wheelchairs. Rating 1.5. Awards/Fees: A awards of for <$TBD>. Credit-only fee is $3. Without AVA credit, fee is $2. There is a $4 park usage charge per car. Directions: Take either Minnesota 5 or US212 west from a Twin Cities southwest suburb, e.g. the intersection of I494, MN 5, and US212 in Eden Prairie. From where 5 & 212 meet on the west side of Norwood/Young America, take Carver County 33 north about 2 & 1/2 miles to park. Turn right (east) into the park, follow the road to the beach parking lot. Parking: Park in the general parking, then come to the picnic shelter. Special: Following the walk, you are invited to join members of the Minnesota Astronomical Society viewing the Perseid meteors. Members of the society will be available at the Onan Observatory from 9p.m. until to answer questions.
